One of my favorite songs is by Ray Price and is simply titled, "Time." While the song is probably the life story of an individual and is secular in nature...with some tweaking it could almost be a hymn. Listening to the song put me in a mood of melancholy.Time really does impact us. While God, being everlasting, is not constrained by time the way mortals are, because we are only allocated so much time. The way we look at time varies. As a young person, time seemed forever, yet, as we grow older, it seems the preoccupation we have with time becomes more realistic. There is a limit to time in the lives of each of us. Therefore, the real importance of time is what we do with the amount of time God affords us. It is this time when we should be preparing for the time when the earthly time runs out. It is then that we become familiar with eternity...the endless time. Preparation is the watch word here; are we making the necessary plans for eternity? Our eternal souls are dependent upon our accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior along with the sincere repentance of our sins. Yes, time is an issue. It can be the faithful friend of Ray Price or it can become the grim reaper of the tares of a wasted life. True Christians live in current timie, but look forward to eternity; time without end. Time does not have to be a dread or an enemy. John, in John 3:16 and 36, tells us that eternal life is a present possession of the believer and we can look forward to the glorious day of the Lord. Human finitude and death give time its significance. In eternity, time will be redeemed along with the rest of the Cosmos. Yes, time can be a faithful friend leading us to eternity. Preparation is the watchword.

May God bless each of you,

Max
